The SuperTab is a tablet form of the chlorine dioxide oxidant. This tablet form of chlorine dioxide (CLO2) is a new development and makes the application of this product very easy. Chlorine dioxide (not to be confused with Chlorine!) is a relatively weak oxidant. Thereby it should in certain levels present in drinking water and also in ponds or basins with other live animals/organisms.
Chlorine dioxide has a long history of nearly 200 years and is discovered by Humphrey Davy in 1814. It is a unique oxidant that is already at very low concentrations is very effective at fighting viruses, fungi and pathogenic bacteria.
Anaerobic bacteria can build up no resistance against chlorine dioxide because the cell structure is destroyed.
Chlorine dioxide is a very selective oxidant and reacts especially with organic substances. Chlorine dioxide has no (harmful) residues. Only a very small amount of sodium chloride (common salt) remains after use. Chlorine dioxide is in low concentrations in the water, other than for example chlorine odorless.
The biggest advantage of chlorine dioxide, compared to other oxidants (hydrogen peroxide, ozone and chlorine), is its low oxidation power in combination with a high oxidation capacity. Chlorine dioxide is used a lot for drinking water preparation, processing and storage of food, fruit-growing and in the meat processing industry.
Low oxidation power:
The more powerful a oxidant, all the more dangerous for living organisms. Ozone should not quite present in the water because of its strength and possible harmful effects, for example, fishing. Therefore ozone is always out of reach of the fish and ensures that no restozon present in the water.
Oxygen is a very weak oxidizer: there should as much as possible by in the water to prevent pathogens and harmful (reducing) substances to neutralize.
Chlorine dioxide is located above the oxygen, but far below in terms of ozone oxidation power. A fixed low concentration in the water is therefore also no problem, for example, fish and other living organisms. The main advantage of the low oxidation power is ultimately that the biological filter maintains considerably better when using chlorine dioxide compared to other oxidants.
High oxidation capacity:
For the same amount of dirt is to neutralize other oxidants 2.5 x as much as necessary of chlorine dioxide. In other words, the concentration of chlorine dioxide only need 40% compared to other oxidants for the same amount of anaerobic bacteria to kill off or organic material to neutralize. A SuperTab is suitable for 50,000 litres of pond water. It is advised to weekly dosing because the product is consumed. At this dosage, the concentration is 0.04 mg/l and the bacterium pressure strongly reduced, without a negative effect on the biology and aquaculture in the water.
At higher concentrations (from 0.1 mg/l up to 0.5 mg/l) is ClO2 well able to strongly reduce bacterial problems in fish and/or cure. According to the German drinking water standard for drinking water (TrinkwV2001) is a concentration of 0.4 mg/l chlorine dioxide allowed.

Start and maintenance during the season:
For ponds it is important the bacterium do not press (WAP) and under good control. For maintenance dosages is a concentration of 0.04 mg/l in the pond desired. That means 1 SuperTab for 50,000 litres of water. If you have a 10,000 liters of pond, you can 1 SuperTab dissolve in a 1 liter Jerry can and then 200 ml dosing. The solution is 6-8 weeks, so long as it is kept cool and dark.
Especially if the organic load is very high (e.g. on first use of the product), is the dosed quantity used up pretty quickly. It is then advisable to every 2nd day to dose, 4 x in a row.
In addition to the reduction of the bacteria pressure disappears after a longer period of use a lot of organic material of the walls. Your pond is slowly becoming visibly cleaner.
High bacterial pressure
If the bacterium pressure in the pond is very high, is to increase the dosage to 1 or even 1 per 20,000 litres SuperTab SuperTab per 10,000 litres. If this dose is repeated daily for a week, dropping the bacterium pressure drastically.
